Continuing donations in Sagaing Hills

Yesterday we updated readers about the donations we were providing to monasteries and nunneries in the Sagaing Hills. Because of the danger of venturing outside when soldiers are behaving so violent and reckless, our volunteers are not able to visit so many sites in a single day. For this reason, they are going where and when it is safe, and addressing those monastic sites that are now in the most need. We include pictures of their recent visit, when more food items were donated to a few small, remote monasteries and nunneries who were running low on supplies.

Many of these Burmese Buddhist monks and nuns live a contemplative, solitary life, and although they are not involved in politics or the affairs of the world, these outer events are creeping in and causing further instability and uncertainty. So we are so delighted to be able to provide them just a little more sustenance, so that they may continue to follow their monastic vows and work towards an end of suffering within their own minds. May they succeed, and may an end of suffering also come to this terrible turmoil that Myanmar is also in at the moment.

May all beings who contributed to this donation fund also be released from suffering.
